Frances Lang
Program Officer, San Diego, CA, USA

I have spent most of my life working to protect the natural resources of Southern California and the Pacific coast. Drawing from my own experiences during childhood, I have always believed in the power of ocean literacy to shape the way humans feel about the marine world, to transcend international borders, and to bring people together. In the beginning of my career, I established Ocean Connectors, an organization that uses migratory marine species to educate, inspire and connect youth in underserved Pacific coastal communities. My responsibilities included program design, evaluation, fundraising, staff and financial management, partner development, and more. In my current position as Program Officer at The Ocean Foundation, I lead our Teach for the Ocean Initiative.
