Frederico Almada
Researcher - Marine Biology

My research interests are centered on understanding the evolutionary and ecological processes conditioning biodiversity. I have focused on molecular phylogenies, population genetics and behavioural ecology. Currently I am working on long-term projects monitoring climate change at marine protected areas (MPA's) and I am also starting a new research line in blue biotechnology exploring the properties of temperate fish venoms. On science dissemination and ocean literacy I have a project directed to school students named Kids Dive (www.kidsdive.org).
