My name is Giada Zaher, I am 18 years old and I would like to attend this special event EU4Ocean cause I am attracted by the marine field and I find it a chance to build my skills and enlarge my knowledge and culture through international events. I study law, English department at the University of Alexandria in Egypt. The secret or reason behind my decision to study law is having grown up in different cultures, so I was curious about how the law works in different countries especially international law. Being Egyptian born and raised in Italy gave me the opportunity to get closer to Italian and European cultures, and on the other hand, I learned about Egyptian, Arab, Middle Eastern and African cultures through my family. Studying law made me realise that I should understand how the law is applied based on the different societies, I was attracted to the penal code so I decided to take a forensic medical sciences course organised by the University last November to immerse myself more in the field. Fortunately, I live in Alexandria, it means that being informed about different fields, cultures, arts, traditions and law systems is not a problem, thanks to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina! I witnessed in this majestic library several exhibitions about art, literature and culture. The last exhibition was on the occasion of the passage of the Vespucci, the magnificent and solemn Italian sailing ship, known as "The most beautiful ship in the world". The exhibition was from the National Central Library of Rome it was called "Mostra italiani d'Egitto" in honour of two of the most significant figures of twentieth-century Italian literature, Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and Giuseppe Ungaretti. Boarding the Vespucci was a great experience, it made me closer and more passionate about marine and maritime life and how it is read, balanced and controlled. There was a map on the ship that raises the awareness to protect the environment, it was about circular economy, food transition, and energy sources according to the sustainability. Our collaboration is fundamental at national and international level to find solutions and plans to save our seas, oceans and creatures. There is an Italian said that says: "Uno per tutti e tutti per uno", its translation is one for all and all for one, this is our life, our planet we should be one hand for it.
