“METHODS ON TROPICAL REEF MONITORING”- 8th Reef Check Expedition- BANGKA (North Sulawesi)

The international field course held in english provided us the basic knowledge for hard corals ID and we had the opportunity to investigate the health of the reefs evaluating the human-driven impacts and CC-related effects or quantify coral diseases and mortality events through the application of underwater scientific diving methods with specific focus on Reef Check topical monitoring programme, capacity building initiatives, Coral Finder method and CoralWatch protocol application. I had the opportunity to join the expedition thanks to the Reef Check Italia Onlus Grant (3rd place prize in a international ranking of 13 selected participants).
