The historical perspective can be useful also in the framework of the habitat restoration initiatives. Looking at the past can give a useful insight also to recover habitat degradation and ecological functions loss for present and future interventions.

This perspective is at the basis of the research contribution realized in 2018 in the framework of the WP1 of the ABBaCo Project focused on the Site of National Interest of Bagnoli-Coroglio (Gulf of Pozzuoli, Central Tyrrhenian Sea).
