Andrea Collantes

I am a marine scientist from Peru and I have participated in many works related to research on the ecosystems of the Peruvian sea, biodiversity monitoring and oceanographic cruises, consultancies on impacts on the oil industry as government advisor for the creation of new marine protected areas in my country. For 4 years I have been carrying out other of my passions, which is education, through a project called Biomarina, a basic teaching school for young Latin Americans who want to formally start a professional career in marine biology at university or those students who want to direct their lines of research to marine sciences, the project is developed through personalized consultancies with expert marine biologists, thesis advisor, project development, courses, talks, mentoring and other topics in marine education, this project it has been extended to members of society who are interested in learning new concepts about marine environment and conservation.
