Bulent Cavas

Prof. Dr. Bulent Cavas (male) Bulent Cavas completed his Master and Ph.D studies in the field of science education at Dokuz Eylul University, Faculty of Education, Science Teacher Training Programme in 1998. He made his Post-Doc on Inquiry Based Science Education in Middle East Technical University- Turkey. He has over 150 national and international publication and written 10 books on science and science education. He is Secretary of CMAS-Science Committee. He has underwater rugby, swimming and waterpolo trainer certificate from related federations. He has swimming and underwater sports (underwater rugby and hockey) player experiences. He holds lifesaving certificate from Turkish Underwater Sports Federation. Currently, his research interests are Underwater Sports, Underwater Heritage, Responsible Research and Innovation, Open Schooling, Inquiry Based Science Education, Virtual Reality in Science Education. He is Past-President of International Council of Associations for Science Education (ICASE - www.icaseonline.net). He is secretary of Science section of CMAS. He works as external expert for evaluating European Comission Projects in Brussels-Belgium. Currently, he is working as Professor of Science Education at Dokuz Eylul University (www.deu.edu.tr) in Izmir- Turkey. He is leading the department of science education.
