Marat Bektassov
Researcher, PhD candidate

I am Marat Bektasov, a researcher in analytical chemistry and environmental science at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. With a Master’s degree in Engineering and Technology in Chemical Technology of Inorganic Substances, I am currently pursuing a PhD, focusing on the development of green analytical methodologies for detecting environmental pollutants. My research explores biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs), air quality markers, and pesticides, utilizing advanced techniques like vacuum solid-phase microextraction, dynamic headspace extraction, and GC-MS analysis. I have contributed to international projects, collaborating with Aarhus University (Denmark) to enhance analytical approaches for environmental monitoring. My work has been published in Q1 journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, and I actively engage in scientific research to develop cost-effective and sustainable analytical methods. Through my studies, I aim to advance environmental monitoring technologies and contribute to a cleaner, healthier world.
