Morocco joined the Atlantic Blue Schools Network in May 2021 and later became part of the Global Blue Schools Network in 2024.

The first awareness event was held on June 25, 2021, at Groupe Scolaire Ouled Zid (El Jadida), engaging 48 students through workshops, drawings, and speeches about the marine environment despite Covid-19 restrictions.

A second activity, the “Ocean Day”, took place on February 22, 2022, at the French International School Jean Charcot with 60 students and 11 Master’s students animating educational games and presentations. The network also partnered in the Coastal Engineering Days (February 25–26, 2022), promoting sustainable blue growth through expert talks. Another Ocean Day was celebrated on June 8, 2023, at Jean Charcot School, reinforcing ocean literacy and coastal protection. On February 15, 2024, a joint event with the University of Montpellier was held at Fkih Hattab Primary School to enhance children’s awareness of ocean issues. To date, five Moroccan schools have joined the Blue Schools program, involving around 40 teachers and over 250 students nationwide in ocean education and sustainability activities.
