The Blue Schools programme in Argentina, launched in 2021 by the Cultural Center for Science, has a core mission of promoting school projects dedicated to nurturing an oceanic culture. This initiative aligns with the national scientific priorities and represents a challenge in fostering sovereignty through ocean culture.
The program establishes meaningful connections with Argentina's extensive 6000 km of coastline and the country's vast marine territory, encompassing an impressive 62% of its total land area. After almost five years of implementing the program in Argentina, more than 10,000 students and 150 teachers have been involved in the programme. Even schools located far from the ocean have discovered that they can establish meaningful relationships that positively impact ocean conservation.
