Peru is a biodiverse and nuanced country, that has 3080 kms of coast. Our relationship to the ocean is deeply embedded in our culture, however, it is important we acknowledge the right and wrongdoings of our community, and take action towards correcting them.
The Peruvian Blue Schools project has been working since 2024, and has the main goal of connecting young people to the ocean. Through different initiatives, and a comprehensive approach to learning, it has impacted students in various parts of the country. Projects such as theatrical plays and children’s books have been developed through the program, emphasizing the true link between the participants and ocean literacy and conservation.
