Mediterranean Sea Literacy
Mediterranean Sea Literacy (MSL) was developed by a group of marine scientists and educators, members of the EMSEA regional Mediterranean group, EMSEA Med, following the OL framework. MSL adapted the OL content, its principles and concepts to the specific features of the Mediterranean Sea. The MSL principles and concepts serve as guidance for research, education, informed decision-making and improved citizens’ lifestyles. Moreover, it aims to contribute to environmental protection, conservation, and restoration of the Mediterranean Sea as well as to help to achieve a blue innovative and sustainable economy. MSL was published in the Mediterranean Marine Science journal (https://ejournals.epublishing.ekt.gr/index.php/hcmr-med-mar-sc/article/view/23400), and it is also available in the form of the brochure in 4 languages (English, Croatian, Greek and Italian). Several translations to different Mediterranean languages are currently being prepared by the EMSEA Med group.
