Ever wondered what it feels like to surf a 20 meter wave, or what it means to bring arts and education together for the good of the ocean? Come and meet some real life Blue Experts for yourself at the Ocean Literacy Dialogues in Barcelona on April 8!
The session is organized by IOC/UNESCO in partnership with the Youth4Ocean Forum of EU4Ocean and features world champion surfer Maya Gabeira as well as OLWA member and founder of Aqua Mater, Patricia Furtado de Mendonça.In this special edition we engage youth in group discussions around topics addressed during the Ocean Literacy Dialogues, and set the stage for the Declaration on Ocean Literacy that we’re preparing to present at the Global Ocean Literacy Conference in Venice in June 2024.
The “Meet a Blue Expert ” activities were designed by the Youth4Ocean Forum to promote youth professional development and a multidisciplinary understanding of the maritime world, as well as to foster exchanges among a wide range of stakeholders.
Come and explore all the different ways that young professionals can get involved with ocean literacy in Europe and beyond, by leveraging IOC/UNESCO’s network of experts and all our partners involved with Ocean Literacy With All (OLWA).
