The aim of the Thalassophile Project Common Accessibility Framework is to ensure teachers and adult educators gain the knowledge and skills to consistently plan and educate about issues in marine science and conservation to meet the needs of hearing and visually impaired adults. Specifically, this means addressing best practice and unique specificities in how visually and hearing impaired adults can engage with the complex scientific and geo-political issues in marine science and conservation whilst consistently promoting:

  • research based education
  • active learning
  • critical thinking
  • self-directed learning which leads to
  • self-directed climate change action
