Dr. Daniel Zwick

Maritime Archaeologist, 24837 Schleswig, Deutschland

Member since 30 Mar 2022

I am a maritime archaeologist and scientific diver with international work experience, specialised at the universities of Southampton (B.A. + M.A.) and Kiel (PhD). I implemented the international BalticRIM Project (acronym for: Baltic Sea Region Integrated Maritime Cultural Heritage Management) on behalf of the project lead partner - the State Archaeology Department of Schleswig-Holstein (ALSH) - in 2017-2020, which included the creation of a database, the interpretation of how sites are affected by marine geomorphology and anthropogenic impacts, as well as technical contributions for a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) in the German EEZ and Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) in territorial waters. Currently, I carry out research on historic shipwrecks in the intertidal zone threatened by coastal erosion as a consequence of climate change.
