Description
Jemma is a Principal Advisor in Cefas Lowestoft laboratory. In her current position, she is responsible for providing scientific advice to the Marine Management Organisation (MMO), Natural Resources Wales and Defra and BEIS, on the potential risks and impacts to the marine environment of a wide range of human activities, including dredging and dredged material disposal, marine constructions, aggregate extraction and marine renewables.
She has over 9 years experience of providing advice on potential human impacts on the marine environment. Jemma is the lead advisor for complex Welsh construction and dredging projects and is the lead for OSPAR and London Convention/ London Protocol reporting and represents the UK at the London Convention/ London Protocol Scientific Group Meetings. She represents the UK by sitting on the Compliance Group for the London Convention/ London Protocol. She also advises the UK Government on the environmental aspects of deep seabed mining in The Area. She has a PhD considering multi-disciplinary decision-making processes and tools.
