<p style=”font-weight: 400;”><strong>Martha Papathanassiou</strong> studied Marine Sciences (B.SC. Hons) and completed a Master’s Degree (MA) in Communications, both in the UK. She worked as Communications Officer for various EU-funded projects (FP6 SESAME & FP7 PERSEUS <a href=”http://www.perseus-net.eu/”>www.perseus-net.eu</a>) for over 13 years, at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research, in Athens, Greece. In 2018, she founded INDIGO MED, participating in the EU ERAMUS+ Project <a href=”http://www.projectmates.eu/”>MATES</a> and the EASME <a href=”https://medskippers.com/”>MedSkippers</a> project. She is currently Work Package leader in the H2020 <a href=”http://bridgeblacksea.org/”>BRIDGE-BS</a> project, leading ocean literacy, education and capacity building activities in the Black Sea. She has also worked as a freelance communications consultant for IOC-UNESCO and <a href=”https://www.brilliantsolutions.gr/”>Brilliant Solutions Engineering & Consulting</a>, providing consulting services related to dissemination and communication activities, and event management for projects focusing on water and environmental science & policy.</p>
